                                                                                Yoga Class

Class Description: Class session will be moderately paced and appropriate for all level students. It will be a mixed style class incorporating Vinyasa yoga as well as attention to alignment and technique. Clear instruction is given in breathing technique, warm-up and posture flow. New students will develop body awareness, posture alignment and core strength in basic poses. Modifications are given allowing the students to choose a more beginning or more advanced practice according to their needs. Everyone works on his or her own ability and comfort level.

 

YOGA INSTRUCTOR:

Melissa S. Capel, RYT200, Melissa has been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching for 5 years. CShe completed a 220-hour interdisciplinary yoga-training program at Amalam School of Yoga at Outer Banks Yoga in January 2014.She is a Certified Yoga Instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance.Melissa is known for her non-judgmental teaching style. She finds joy in helping others connect the mind, body, and breath through yoga.

You will need to bring your own yoga mat. 

Class will take a maximum of 20 particitpants and minimum 10 particitpants

                                                         Mother and Daughter Yoga Class

Are you looking for a fun new way to positively connect with a young lady in your life? This special class is for mothers or other adult female role models and their lovely daughter’s age 10 and up. Bring your special little lady and get ready to explore deeper connection through yoga. This Mother-Daughter yoga class brings practices that integrate stillness, relaxation and connection. No experience necessary. We welcome grandmothers, aunties, caretakers or pairs that identify themselves as mother/daughter are invited to join us. at our studio.

                                                             Mindful Meditation Class 

Are you stressed? Do you need help calming your mind and thoughts? What is meditation? Do you want to learn how to meditate?

Class Description: Meditation is a practice, and it’s a means of transforming the mind. It doesn’t mean that you are always sitting cross-legged in silence. It can involve walking, gazing at an object, visualization, focusing on the breath and/or bodily sensations, or on a word or phrase known as a mantra. Meditation is about being in the present moment.

This class will introduce you to several different types of meditations, and teach you how you can use meditation in your everyday life to bring calmness and peace of mind.

MEDITATION INSTRUCTOR:

Melissa S. Capel, B.A., A.A.S, LMBT, RYT200, was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. She has been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching for 5 years. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance. She completed a 220-hour interdisciplinary yoga-training program at Amalam School of Yoga at Outer Banks Yoga in January 2014.

                                                                     Cardio-Core

Class Description: Class session will includes 30 minutes of  low impact aerobics and 30 mins of Pilates! Lose weight, increase strength, lose stress, increase energy,gain flexibility,range of motion and cardio endurance! 

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR:

Kathleen Shank is a retired Fitness Director from the Greenville Aquatic & Fitness Center with 35 years of experience in teaching and training clients and instructors of all age groups in exercise science and specialties such as body posture, muscle and cardiovascular conditioning, Myofascia connective tissue technique, stress management and relaxation techniques.

There will be two Cardio-Core classes available this fall. One class will meet on Tuesday night and the other class on Thursday night. Dress comfortably in fitness attire & bring your own mat & water bottle!

                                                          Soft Roller Technique Class

Class Description: Relaxing class where you learn to massage your muscles with a soft body roller that will hydrate your lymphatic and connective tissue, alleviating pain in the body, improving flexibility & range of motion.  The best HEALING routine you'll ever learn!

Kathleen Shank is a retired Fitness Director from the Greenville Aquatic & Fitness Center with 35 years of experience in teaching and training clients and instructors of all age groups in exercise science and specialties such as body posture, muscle and cardiovascular conditioning, Myofascia connective tissue technique, stress management and relaxation techniques.

Class will meet on Monday and Thursday night. Dress comfortably in fitness attire & bring your own mat & water bottle!

                                                                  Dance Fitness Class

Class Description: Class session will be a variety of genres.  There will be a different workout each week.  Every class will have cardio, strength training, to make sure every muscle group is targeted.  These classes will be appropriate for every fitness level; show modified and advanced moves for every set of exercises.  Music will be high energy and entertaining to where participants at the end of class will be surprised an hour has passed!  Everyone, no matter what age, will enjoy the class and find it fun, exciting, and highly challenging!

DANCE FITNESS CLASS INSTRUCTOR:

Jamie Pierce has extensive background in dance, choreography, and teaching group fitness. She has taught in two different clubs in Greenville - interval training, dance workouts, and strength workouts. She is currently working on receiving nationally accredited certification for group fitness with AFAA.

                                                                     Pilates Class

 Class Description: Class session will be great for strengthening and toning every muscle group but with a focus on your core. You will see improved flexibility, joint mobility, posture and balance. It also has a strong mind/body connection using very precise controlled movements and relaxing breathing techniques, so you may like it if you enjoy yoga but need a more intense core workout.

PILATES INSTRUCTOR:
