This 10-week class session will help you develop your personal style and technique. No matter if you are just a beginner or a long-time artist, come enjoy creating your masterpiece! This class is designed to provide support and guidance as you work on your individual paintings. Come join us for fun evening of creativity.

Pottery Classes

This 10-week class session is perfect for those who have always wanted to try their hand at throwing pots; this class provides the chance to learn the potter’s craft, from wedging and throwing to finishing and glazing. Small class size ensures no waiting for a wheel. Studio    classes include wheel throwing instruction, hand building, and glazing techniques in a relaxing atmosphere

 There will be two pottery classes available. One class will meet on Tuesday night and the other class on Wednesday night.

Woodburning Class

Have you ever wanted to take drawing or artistic design one-step further? Maybe you wanted to skip the drawing part entirely and impress people with your epic woodburning skills...but haven't actually taken the steps to start? Either way, you've come to the right place.

This is a 5 week class for beginners to woodburning. Woodburning (also known as pyrography) is the craft of touching wood or leather with a heated poker to produce decorative burn marks, achieving a large range of decorative effects.

 Students will: Learn new techniques using various woodburning tools

                        Express themselves through creative woodburning

                        Gain familiarity with woodburning as an art form

Patricia Jones has been a Pyrography Artist for over 20 years.  She has instructional experience teaching one-on-one and group classes.  She is excited to offer Beginning woodburning or pyrography

Stained Glass Class Level 1

This 5-week class is design for the beginning student. Learn the basics; pattern selection, glass cutting, layout, foiling, and soldering.  The cost of this class includes all materials need to make two different projects. Due to the lead solder used, women who are pregnant or nursing should not take this class. For ages 18 yrs. plus. Min 3/Max 6

 
INSTRUCTOR:

Barney Barker has been a Stained Glass Artist for over 20 years.  He has instructional experience teaching one-on-one and group classes.  He is excited to offer Beginning Stained Glass classes in Ayden and hopes to build Intermediate and Advance classes as we grow.  He will also offer special interest classes upon request and interest.

CLASS SCHEDULE:

1st week-3 piece sailboat

2nd week-5 to 7  interlocking piece project (Cut glass and grind-foil at home) 3rd week-Solder last weeks project.  Cut out panel pattern, begin cutting glass, finish cutting at home.

4th week-grind and fit pattern together-foil at home.

5th week-Solder final project.

                                                                        Stained Glass Class Level 3
 

This 7-week class is design for the level 3 student. Must have completed Level I and Level II to participate. Due to the lead solder used, women who are pregnant or nursing should not take this class.

Description: In this class you will provide an old window with glass and old chaulk removed. The window should not exceed 32" X 28". Instructor will help you with the design after examples have been provided. Your window will be created of all clear glass with contrasting textures and spaces to hang crystals and any other ornaments you would like to bring to incorporate on the first class for design.
